I am a survivor, a woman who went against the odds in the face of disaster and hardship. Through being molested and raped as a child, getting a brain injury, being abused at home, and even getting shot in the head, I have become a symbol of power and resilience. My journey shows how important faith, hard work, and the human spirit are.
I used to be a famous hairstylist and model, and my life was full of fun. But when I got into a bad relationship, my life took a dark turn. On the night of May 8, 2007, I was hit in the head by a bullet. That night, everything changed. I made my way back, even though I had surgeries and didn't know what would happen. I had to deal with disabilities, problems, and even aggressive behavior.
This scary journey led to a change that no one saw coming. I found comfort in coloring, and my resolve helped me get better. Over time, I re-learned how to do simple things, which gave me back my freedom. Today, I'm a live example of how strong you can be and proof that miracles can come from the worst times.
My story isn't about being a victim. Instead, it's about surviving and becoming strong. Through what I've been through, I want to give others who are going through hard times hope. I am living proof that every problem, no matter how hard it seems to solve, has the potential to help you grow and heal. As I welcome each day with gratitude, I'm reminded that we all have power inside us.
